“Let food by thy medicine” - Hippocrates
A famous Chinese physician of antiquity named Sun Si-miao (581AD-682AD) stated that when someone becomes ill the physician should first try to cure them with food, in other words, by changing their diet accordingly.
According to TCM theory, foods, like herbs, are attributed various energetic properties, such as being cooling or warming, and therefore affect the body and its qi in various ways. Eating the wrong or right foods can make a substantial difference to the potential outcome of any treatment and can prove to be a treatment in itself.
Treatment will involve an appraisal of your current diet, suggestions for substitute foods that will help heal your condition, and specific therapeutic remedial recipies for healing dishes that can be used as often as needed. |
